Lighthouse Foundation has been transforming lives for over 33 years, supporting vulnerable children and young people to overcome adversity through their holistic, evidence-informed Lighthouse Model of Care. The Foundation provides those who have experienced homelessness and/or trauma with a safe place and the therapeutic relationships they need to heal, grow, and thrive. In 2023–24 alone, Lighthouse supported 182 young people, children, and babies—each referred at a time of serious vulnerability.

Among their programs is the Young Women’s Freedom Program, which offers safety and a path to independence for young women escaping, or at risk of, forced marriage, domestic servitude, and other forms of modern slavery. Over the past year, nine young women aged 16 to 23 have been supported through this program, reconnecting with their culture and identity through tailored therapeutic care. Larita Academy are proud to partner with Lighthouse and this year, several of the young women from the Young Women’s Freedom Program joined Larita Academy — gaining career clarity, confidence, and access to networks and opportunities they hadn’t imagined possible.

“Larita Academy offered our young people aspirational exposure to high-level thinking, new networks, and possibilities they may not have imagined for themselves. It was a powerful experience, one we’d absolutely love to be part of again in the future.” — Brenda Boland, CEO, Lighthouse Foundation

This partnership reflects a shared belief: that every young person deserves more than safety. They deserve a chance to thrive. Learn more about Lighthouse Foundation at www.lighthousefoundation.org.au
